The Mikoyan MiG-27 (Russian: Микоян МиГ-27) (NATO reporting name "Flogger-D/J") is a variable-geometry ground-attack aircraft, originally built by the Mikoyan design bureau in the Soviet Union and later license-produced in India by Hindustan Aeronautics as the Bahadur ("Valiant"). It is based on the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23 fighter aircraft, but optimized for air-to-ground attack
Munitions may include the following: R-27 AAMs, R-73 AAMs, R-77 AAMs, Rocket Pods and various laser-guided / conventional drop bomb loadouts. External fuel tanks at three hardpoints can replace munitions.
with the Su-27 getting a guns kill once the energy on the MiG-29 starts getting depleted, the Su-27 is literally fighting the whole time in a neutral position till finally it lands into lead pursuit. so I think we have our answer, the MiG-29 is less capable then the Su-27 in DCS. This is only assuming at current time.
USAF F-16 vs. IQAF MiG-25. On the morning of 27 December 1992, Iraqi MiG-25s repeatedly penetrated the southern no-fly zone, south of the 32nd parallel. A flight of USAF F-16s, led by Capt. Gary North, was conducting a patrol as part of Operation Southern Watch when a MiG-25 crossed the parallel to their west, and proceeded towards North's flight.

The Cuban MiG-29 force may have been originally planned to be 35 – 45 fighter jets (enough for a full regiment), but economic problems reduced the buy to only twelve MiG-29 “Fulcrum As” and two two-seat MiG-29UB “Fulcrum Bs“. These arrived in October 1989 and, after assembly, were test
The MIG-29 is just an inefficient aircraft to operate. Mig 29 costing upward of 11-13k euros per hours to operate and F-16s costing 9-8K per hour to operate. This is also compounded by the fact that the main source of (original new production) Mig 29 parts is currently busy dealing with domestic orders and a war so prices have increased.
The old FM still had great low speed performance, and didn't drop 600+ kmh to dodge one missile. The Original MiG-29 9.12A and 9.13 are still pretty good, but the SMT is an absolute boat with its missing better engines and extra heft, and all lose more speed then a MiG-21 in turns which isn't exactly accurate.
The Trump MiG-21 is a nice kit as is the MiG-23 but both are older airframes if you want an "opponent" for something modern like the F-16. Personally, I'd put a MiG-29 next to an F-16 and an Su-27 next to an F-15 if I were matching them up for size and role. Yes the MiG-29 gets expensive if you want anything remotely accurate.
The MiG-31 "Foxhound" was developed as an off-shoot of the record-setting MiG-25 "Foxbat". The Foxbat was of a fast breed of aircraft, but agile it was not. It was an airframe built simply to intercept incoming aerial threats utilizing its own powerful engines, an equally powerful radar system and long-range missiles to achieve altitude, head
